WITC is partner in new business magazine for Superior area
December 5, 2011
From superiortelegram.com: “Business magazine offers Superior focus” — For the Chamber’s Dave Minor, Positively Superior was a 10-year dream in the making.
“This has been a dream of mine at the Chamber for about 10 years,” said Minor, president and chief executive officer of the Chamber. “How do we tell the positive stories of Superior?”
Born in the backyards as neighbors Jim Caesar, former interim director of the Development Association in Superior, and Jay Ott, publisher of the Duluthian magazine, mowed lawns and raked leaves, Positively Superior made its debut Wednesday night at VIP in Superior.
The new magazine focuses on Superior businesses and will be mailed bi-monthly to the businesses. The magazine was created in partnership with the city of Superior, the Chamber of Superior-Douglas County, University of Wisconsin-Superior, Superior Business Improvement District and Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College.
Partner organizations are contributing financially and as members of the magazine’s editorial board.
In the premiere edition, members of the organizations also served as writers for the publication.
“We needed these partners not only for their financial support, and commitment, but for their editorial input,” said Caesar. “These are people who have their ear to the ground and can help us identify stories and themes. We thought it was important to have the city involved, education involved, and business, obviously.”
