Fox Valley Tech approves expansion plans
November 16, 2011
From fox11online.com: “Fox Valley Tech approves expansion plans” — GRAND CHUTE – Fox Valley Technical College took the first step Tuesday night to possibly expand its facilities.
The board of trustees voted unanimously, 9-0, to move the plans forward.
Campus leaders say they need new facilities because they’re enrolling more and more students.
New buildings are being considered for both the Grand Chute and Oshkosh sites.
The board will now research how much to expand facilities and potential cost — expected now to be as high as $85 million.
Most of that cost would be for a new Public Safety Training Center. The facility would have firing ranges, emergency vehicle driving areas and a mock village to help students practice for real-life situations.
The expansion plans could mean higher taxes for district residents. But campus leaders say it’s worth the price.
