WITC student shows prize-winning cattle

From leadertelegram.com: “Rural Glenwood City farm’s cows reign supreme” – GLENWOOD CITY – It’s not in Roger and Debbie Schugs’ nature to toot their own horns.
They’re not comfortable bragging about their cattle, instead letting the animals, for lack of a better term, speak for themselves.
While the Schugs prefer to keep a low profile, their Holsteins have made a big statement at the St. Croix County Fair in Glenwood City, where they’ve captured supreme champion honors over all breeds for the past three years.
The accomplishment marks the first time in the county the same family has won the award three years in a row.
“We had disbelief and shock all rolled into one,” Debbie said, but “after it sets in, you’re thinking it’s pretty cool.”
While the achievement came as a shock to the Schugs, it’s not surprising to those who know the couple and their work ethic.
“We call (them) the best-kept secret in St. Croix County,” said Debbie’s sister, Mary Lieffring.
